home sweet home

Well we are (almost) all moved it. Yes, it is taking us forever, thanks to lack of muscle, lack of large vehicle, and excess rain. We are hoping to have the last of our things out of the apartment this weekend, so we can get it nice and clean by the 1st. How is our new house, you ask? We pretty much love it.
We love the space. We love how much the dogs love the space. We love are huge yard. (see if I am still saying that after mowing it for the first time) We love how it feels like we are "out," but we are really so close to town. We love the trees. We especially love getting to decorate together. Check back for interior photos!

This past weekend was crazy busy. We started moving, but as it turns out, Ty and I are not great at moving when it is just us. We had to enlist some muscle. His brothers and our dads were so awesome for helping us out. Unfortunately, we still have a lot of furnature at the apartment that still needs moving. We spent our first night in our new home hiding in the bathroom from the approaching storms. Soooo much crazy weather last night. My heart breaks for all the people in Joplin who have lost family, friends, and homes. I have heard so many sad stories already this morning.

On a lighter note, I was able to take a break from moving long enough to spend some time with my favorite 7 year-old.

Favorite Hannah girl quotes of the day:
1. "Sometimes I just like to call people shine flower."
2. "My nickname is Love Heart Rainbow Butterfly. What's yours?"
3. "Do you have any cookies?"
    "No"
    "How about popsickles?"
   "Nope"
   "Cheetos?"
   "Huh-uh"
"Sissy! What's wrong with you? You need to go to the store!!"

Photos for Friday

These are our precious puppies.
I have been Stella's mom for 3 whole years. We love each other. She is kind of a big deal in my life.

This is a family portrait. Our last family portrait in the apartment! Tomorrow we get the keys to our house. I cannot wait to make it cozy. The puppies will love the extra room.
And these adorable people (who we love dearly) came to visit us this week. I love watching them all interact with one another. I hope they are friends always. Also, they are all graduating this weekend, so congratulations Brandon, Parker, Madison, and Jimi!

Well, hello there. I hope everyone has been having a good week so far. Here is a little glimpse into my first few days of life without college:

1. Catching up on movies- We FINALLY got to watch The King's Speech and Blue Valentine this week. I know, soooo behind. I loved first, and the second broke my heart (in a good way). I think Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams have soooo much chemestry. (umm and the little girl in that movie! i want her!)

2. Etsying!- I found some awesome new materials at the flea market this weekend! It is so nice to have more time to work on my projects.

3. Catching up on TV- We don't have cable, and until this weekend I couldn't even stream Netflix on my computer because it was so out of date. Well, now that I have my new baby and have been reunited with Netflix, I have been watching season 6 of The Office nonstop. Favorite moments so far: the entire Jim/Pam wedding, Phylis and Dwight's martial arts battle, annnnd the murder mystery game.

Enjoy your Tuesday <3

a letter from hannah girl

Yesterday at my graduation party there was a book where people could write me notes. I got so many well wishes, notes of encouragement, and love from these letters. I thought I would take some time to share my absolute favorite with all of you...

Sissy,
Hannah loves you. You are the most prettiest sister I have ever seen. You shine like a flower. I liked your wedding. I love you Kaitlyn. You're the best sister I've ever seen, and I hope I see one like you again. I love you!
Love, Hannah.
 Isn't that the cutest/sweetest/funniest/best thing?!

For those of you who don't know, Hannah is my 7 year old sister. As you can see, she is absolutely hilarious. I love her so much.

cue kanye west's "graduation"

Hello everyone. My apologies for being absent all week. My final finals needed my utmost attention! As of yesterday, I am finished with college, and I must say, it feels incredible. Since I go to a massive university, and find graduations extremely boring, I opted not to put myself or my family members through the process. Instead, we had a huge cookout today. It was so wonderful. I got to see so many wonderful and supportive family members and friends.

Below is a picture of my beautiful cake! My lovely aunt, Lennia (the same aunt who did the ever-so-perfect wedding cakes) is responsible.

Also, everyone pitched in and got me this:

I literally did a happy dance as I was opening it. Guys, Ty and I are both operating on iMac G4s, which were discontinued circa 2006. It was time for an upgrade.

As you can see, we are already having lots of fun with our beautiful new toy.

i heart my mom

This is my mom. Isn't she the cutest?

Happy Mother's Day, Mom! You are seriously the best friend and mom anyone could ask for. I am so so lucky to have you. Thanks for all of your encouragement and for always fighting for your kids.
I love you!

Okay, I have decided Ty can come back already. Don't get me wrong... I'm not one of those people who can't stand to be by themselves. I lived alone (plus stella) for 2 years before we got married. For the most part, I didn't mind too much. I don't think it is my desire to be around someone all the time. Just one person in particular. Maybe that is because for most of our dating relationship  we were apart? I'm not sure. I do know that everytime he has left since, it always reminds me of when we were dating long distance and how much better it is now! These are some of the only pictures we have of when we were dating. We look like babies (especiall in the first two).

Have any of you guys ever done the long distance thing? Don't believe people when they say it doesn't work. It is HARD, but it can be soooo worth it!

Well, ladies and gentlemen... school is wrapping up for good, and it feels strange. After 5 years (including several summers) of college, I am finally (almost) done. My last final is one week from tomorrow. That means this weekend will include studying, studying, and more studying. Ty will be out of town until late Monday night (sadface), which gives me ample time to study. He IS a bit of a distraction if I'm being honest with myself.... but a good one.
