I love being an aunt

This is my 3 year old niece, Alexis.

This morning, I went to her first soccer game.

The highlight of the game was definitely when she and her little friend decided to stop playing soccer and start playing ring-around-the-rosie in the middle of the soccer field during the game. I love her <3

Today's post shall be short but sweet....I have my bachelorette party tonight, so I am in an up-for-anything sort of mood. Of course with my friends, this literally means ANYTHING. I'd say I'm about 78% excited, 22% scared. It's going to be epic.

Pictures to follow.

Who has never heard of snow ice cream?!

My wonderful friend, Jennifer often blogs about the miscommunications and general confusions that come from dating someone from another country. (Jennifer is an American living in Europe, and her boyfriend is Polish). These posts are highly hilarious, and I recommend you take a look at them immediately.

Ty and I have never really had these sorts of misunderstandings or cultural barriers, as we were raised (mostly) in the same town. Until today, the biggest shock he had ever given me was that he didn't (and still doesn't, might I add) know who Rhianna is. I mean, I'm pretty sure Jennifer's Polish boyfriend even knows who Rhianna is. Jennifer, am I right?! Well, we still have a LOT of snow here, so today I casually suggested we make snow ice cream. To my shock and utter horror, Ty had no idea what I was talking about. He had never tasted nor heard of it. That depressed me so much that we rushed to the store immediately.

Needless to say, he is hooked, and we are making more tomorrow.

Snowed In

I have decided being snowed in is still really fun as an adult. I mean, you get to sleep in, watch movies, cuddle with puppies, and drink hot cocoa all day. What's not great about that? For example: This morning I got up at 9:30, and Ty and I played a game of Scattergories. Then, I went back to sleep for a few hours while he worked on some new artwork. When I woke up, we cooked some dinner and walked down the street to the gas station to redbox some movies. (We walked because our cars are literally 80% buried in the snow.) It was freezing! Ever since we got back, we have been piled up on the couch with puppies and blankets watching movies. The BEST. Now, I am just sitting here dreaming of cozy things...

Like this sweater from anthropologie....

Stay warm<3

So, here I am a mere 5.5 weeks from my wedding day. Folks, that is every bit as insane as it sounds. I have decided that in order to remain sane, (or relatively so) I need to stick with a routine. As an infrequent blogger, I decided perhaps it would be a good idea to incorporate blogging into that routine. Ergo, I pledge to do my very best to blog every day until the wedding. Whew. Think I can do it?

To Do This Week:
1. purchase stamps and mail out wedding invitations (Ty is such a dear- he addressed probably 80% of these)
2. order my veil from etsy
3. begin my independent study class (I think I can, I think I can)
4. bathe the doggies (Stelly is beyond smelly because she keeps getting soaked in the snow)
5. do something nice for ty-- I mean something out of the ordinary. He is so generous and thoughtful where I am concerned. I want to be more intentional in doing these random acts of kindness for him.
